Nouveau Quatuor, a Baroque ensemble based in Portland, will perform a program of four trio sonatas at baroque pitch (A-415) at the Old Church on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, as part of the Old Church noon-time recital series.
The ensemble features Jas. Adams on Baroque flute, Austin DeSimone on violin, Marny Elicker on violoncello, and David Studhalter on harpsichord. The program will consist of four trio sonatas by four Baroque masters, each quite distinctive and displaying the creative genius of the composer:
Corelli, Trio Sonata in G major (Op 2, No 4)
Johann Sebastian Bach, Trio Sonata in G major (BWV 1038)
Carl Phillip Emanuel Bach, Trio Sonata in G major (WQ 153)
Georg Philip Telemann, Trio Sonata in E minor (TWV 42:e2)
