CYNTHIA TRIF & CAROLYN QUICK, SOPRANOS

Featuring works by composers , Maurice Ravel, Reynaldo Hahn, Gioachino Rossini, Geminiano Giacomelli, Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre, Undine Smith Moore, Katerina Gimon, and Carolyn Quick and Antonio Vivaldi.  With guest collaborators Signe Lusk (piano) and Savannah Gentry (flute)

Carolyn Quick is a “versatile young soprano” (Eugene Opera) with a “pure timbre” (Opera News) and “haunting” voice (Eugene Opera). She has sung a vast repertoire of musical styles including opera, early music, renaissance, choral, and contemporary music – including thirteen world premieres in both North America and Europe. In 2015, she performed the role of Miles – from Benjamin Britten’s Turn of the Screw – with the Eugene Opera; in 2016, she sang as a Vocal Fellow for the Oregon Bach Festival under the tutelage of Roomful of Teeth’s Estelí Gomez; in 2017, Carolyn had the privilege of participating as both a singer and composer the Uzmah-Upeat Summer Music School in Milna, Croatia; and in the last year has performed as the Soprano soloist in both G.F. Händel’s Messiah and Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria with the Student Orchestras of Greater Olympia and the South Puget Sound Community College Chorus. Carolyn is a member of the Portland Symphonic Choir and the Portland Phoenix Chamber Choir.  
 

Cynthia Trif is a very diverse lyric soprano with a pure voice who has been performing as a soloist for many years. Her passion for singing is evident in her varied repertoire including opera, early music, choral and jazz. She has performed principle roles in Sweeney Todd, Candide, Pirates of Penzance, Iolanthe, and Yeoman of the Guard.   She is a member of the internationally award winning Portland Phoenix Chamber Choir.
